SCCUL Enterprise Centre, Ballybane
At the SCCUL Enterprise Centre, Ballybane, we believe in providing local enterprises and community groups with the opportunity to develop and grow. The Centre provides affordable space and support services. Through the operation of a two-tier social inclusion model, as a not for profit, SCCUL uses income generated from commercial interactions to offset the cost associated with the provision of facilities and services to local community groups. The SCCUL Enterprise Centre strives to encourage the establishment and growth of start-ups and small businesses.
The Centre comprises 18 independent business units, shared office space with 16 hot desks, a number of conference rooms, a holistic counselling suite and a shared canteen.
bizmentors
bizmentorsis a mentoring programme for start-ups and existing businesses currently servicing Galway City & County. It provides free access to business expertise and wisdom to people in small businesses who may otherwise have difficulty in accessing such support.
bizmentors has provided 6000+ hours of mentoring to local business for free.
The rapid growth and success of the bizmentors program has seen it recognised by the European Union and funded to roll-out across 4 regions in northern Europe as a pilot programme between 2018 and 2021.
Bizmentors International
The Bizmentors model, developed by SCCUL Enterprises, has been proven to support individuals and businesses in a small dispersed community setting in Galway since 2012.
In a quadruple helix partnership approach, this project aims to innovate the model using an online interactive platform based on international best practice and shared learning to scale and expand
Bizmentors in the North West Europe region, making expertise accessible to all enterprises and entrepreneurs for free.
Our project partners: Western Development Commission – (IE), Fermanagh & Omagh District Council (NI), Savonia University of Applied Sciences (FI), Icelandic Arctic Cooperation Network (IS), Northeast Iceland Development Agency (IS) and SCCUL Enterprises CLG (IE)
